Autumn Mini Beasts Activity Packet

The Autumn Mini Beasts Activity Packet is filled with fun preschool activities including a scavenger hunt, tracing practice, counting activities, and insect diagrams filled with interesting facts to keep your littles engaged. It would be my recommendation to slip these pages into plastic page protectors or have them laminated so that you can use them over and over with a dry-erase marker for extra practice. (TIP- If your marker isn’t wiping clean, use a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a clean rag to wipe away the excess left behind.)

Mini Beast Scavenger Hunt

Perhaps the most exciting piece of the packet, however, is the scavenger hunt! Children will be delighted to take the lead on this scavenger hunt to find some of the “mini beasts” pictured throughout the packet. The layout of this scavenger hunt page is composed of images, without text, so your child can be the guide and take you on an adventure! This scavenger hunt can be done on a hike, on neighborhood walks, at the park, or even in your backyard! I recommend taking a moment to observe each creature with your child when you find it. Ask your child open-ended questions that review the information covered on the insect diagrams such as, “what do you remember about ladybugs?” Asking these types of questions helps children with comprehension and allows them to think back to their favorite facts covered in the lessons. I hope you enjoy getting out into nature with your little ones and seeing what kind of “mini beasts” are hiding in your environment!
