Autumn Pond Study Activity Packet
The Autumn Pond Study Activity Packet is filled with fun preschool activities including a scavenger hunt, tracing practice, counting activities, and ectra activities to help with litter recognition and writing. It would be my recommendation to slip these pages into plastic page protectors or have them laminated so that you can use them over and over with a dry-erase marker for extra practice. (TIP- If your marker isn’t wiping clean, use a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a clean rag to wipe away the excess left behind.)

The biggest perk of the homeschool binder is that you don’t have to constantly print pages off for your kids, rather, you get to turn them into reusable sheets that they can do over and over until their skills or themed work is complete! This is a super simple system, that requires low prep for you! I know being a homeschooling parent takes a lot of time and energy, so the goal is to make homeschooling as simple as possible.
Preschool, PreKindergarten, and Kindergarten Homeschool Skills
While this packet will keep your child excited and engaged in fun activities centered around what goes on at the pond, you can also expect your child to spend some valuable time practicing crucial early learning skills. While working on these pages, your child will practice handwriting, motor skills, counting, learning about insects, and exercising critical thinking, and situational awareness. While younger children may need some parental guidance, you will be pleased to see that these pages are very child-centered, fostering independence and self-reliance in young children as they progress in their knowledge and skill set. Encourage your child with gentle guidance at first and then allow them to draw conclusions on the next step on the page. This type of teaching is so valuable in raising children that are independent and self-confident.

Perhaps the most exciting piece of the packet, however, is the scavenger hunt! Children will be delighted to take the lead on this scavenger hunt to find some of the water life pictured throughout the packet. The layout of this scavenger hunt page is composed of images, without text, so your child can be the guide and take you on an adventure! This scavenger hunt can be done on a hike, on neighborhood walks, at the park, or even in your backyard! I recommend taking a moment to observe each creature with your child when you find it. Ask your child open-ended questions that review the information such as, “What do you think toads eat in the fall”? Asking these types of questions helps children with comprehension and allows them to think back to their favorite facts covered in the lessons.
