Autumn Tree Study Workbook and Scavenger Hunt

This Autumn Tree Scavenger Hunt and Workbook is designed to be used as a companion to Exploring Nature With Children but can be used solo or with any curriculum you choose! I am not affiliated with ENWC, I personally use the curriculum and create activities to go with it for my own kids. Within the nature-themed worksheets for preschool, PreK, and kindergarten, you’ll find math and literary activities that fit perfectly into your autumn homeschool lesson plans. This workbook is available for immediate download and you can print and go.  This is absolutely perfect for busy parents and teachers who want to take lesson planning and material gathering out of their weekly routine.

Autumn Tree Printable Early Education Workbook

Inside the autumn-inspired worksheets, you’ll find a scavenger hunt, tracing activities, handwriting practice, letters and numbers, and tracing and cutting. I encourage you to slip these sheets into a page protector or have them laminated.  This will allow your preschooler to be able to reuse these worksheets throughout the week and season.  You’ll have them use a dry-erase marker while working on the preschool worksheets.  If you have stubborn pen marks, use a little alcohol on a rag and the ink will come right off, leaving your child ready for another round of the fun nature-inspired worksheets.

Along with having fun, your child will be able to practice their handwriting, motor skills, counting, and situational awareness.  With the lettered worksheets, you child will be able to work on their letter recognition, handwriting, and letter formation.  They will be able to do the same with the numbers.  The tracing path activity will help your preschooler to practice pencil control (strengthening important fine motor skills).  With the counting worksheet, your child will be able to count and color the displayed number.  These activities may need parental or teacher assistance in the beginning but will lead to self guided activities down the road.

Autumn Tree Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunt with Leaves, Acorns, Pinecones and more

When utilizing your Autumn Tree Scavenger Hunt for Kids, you will find that there are pictures (no text) so your child can guide your hunt.  This is a very versatile scavenger hunt and I recommend to rotate into your lesson plans throughout the season.  You can do this hunt in your neighborhood, on a hike, while camping, etc.
When you take your child to these different outdoor settings, which can even be urban, it allows your child to observe their surroundings in different settings.  Not only is this helping them learn and notice familiar items in different locations, but it helps for them to be aware of their surroundings.  When you find the items on the scavenger hunt, help them observe and wonder out loud. For example, “I wonder which tree this leaf is from” “What does the leaf feel like” “How do you think this leaf got here”.
